AstroClock

AstroClock FX displays seven clocks all on one screen!

This astronomy clock displays the current local & UTC date & time, a calendar, local & Greenwich sidereal times, and the Julian day. The menus include information for the current sun, moon, eclipses, ephemerides for all the planets, minor planets and comets. It also has three timers that can be run independently.

The algorithms used are based on Jean Meeus book "Astronomical Algorithms." Planet images are generated using the JParsec library - Tomas Alanso Albi.

Double Star Database

This astronomy program displays the current local & UTC date & time, a calendar, local & Greenwich sidereal times, and the Julian day. From the menu items you can access a database of double stars from the WDS catalog and Sixth Catalog of Visual Binary Stars as well as a comprehensive database of the Finest observable doubles gleaned from the most popular observing lists.
There are several useful calculators. And a basic observer's Log to record observations and measures.
Algorithms used are based on Jean Meeus book "Astronomical Algorithms"




Saguaro Database 8.1

Saguaro Database

The Saguaro Database is a compilation of data that was begun in an effort to provide a comprehensive observing list for use at the eyepiece of a modest amateur telescope.
The members of the Saguaro Astronomy Club of Phoenix, Arizona, along with the skill of a variety of other people, have provided much of the effort to compile this database.
This program makes it easy to sort and view the database and its individual objects. Rise/Transit/Set times are calculated as well as Stellar Atlas chart numbers.





UCAC4 ASCII Converter (Windows)

UCAC4

This program converts the binary UCAC4 files to human readable ascii files.
It is advisable that the files from the USNO DVD be copied to your hard drive. The only two directories that need to be copied are u4b (sides 1 & 2) and u4i (side 1) The directory structure should remain the same e.g. c:\u4b c:\u4i
You can copy this program and run it from any directory. Be sure to copy both the UCAC4.exe and u4index.bin to the same directory.
The program itself self-explanatory. For specific details about the fields see the readme_u4.txt on the USNO DVD.
